Seeing Double 1953 - 2007
Andy, Shotgun and Mothballs in a double take at the RAF Halton Apprentices' Tribute. A neat piece of graphical manipulation by Andy Anderton.
The 2007 part of the photograph was taken at the 2007 Triennial. The other part taken some time ago.
The Duchess at Halton House
Actor Ralph Fiennes took time out of filming this week to record a Christmas message for military personnel on operations all over the world. He was speaking during filming of "The Duchess" at Halton House Officer's Mess. The film, a period drama, co-starring Keira Knightly will go on general release next year.
Buckler Car Mystery.
David Montgomery has sent this plea inviting our readers to solve the mystery:
"Hello Joe,
I wonder if you would be good enough to put an appeal for information in your newsletter.
It concerns the Buckler 90 sports/racing car registered PBH 1 that was built at Halton in the 50s.
I've attached a photo of the car and some officers and apprentices.
This car is missing and the Buckler Car Register would dearly love to know where it is, assuming it still exists.
May be one of your readers can help us find her.
Regards,
David Montgomery
Registrar, The Buckler Car Register"
[Editor.]I managed to locate more information at the
Buckler car Register Website.
If you have any info - let me know - then I'll let them know.
Also: If you have any stories about the car at Halton or have any details about the photograph it would make a nice article for the Newsletter.
[Editor] Please send me any news items or stories that may be of interest to members of the 74th Entry Association or any other visitors to the 74th Entry Website.
